Painting a bathroom floor Sign In/Join

I am replacing flooring in my bathroom. I have taken up the vinyl flooring and am left with the luan underflooring. I have been pricing flooring and can't really afford anything I like. I wouldn't be replacing the flooring, but I had to make repairs to broken floor joists and had to take up part of the vinyl trying to figure out what was wrong with the floor. Now I am wondering if I can just paint the floor and then seal it with polyurethene. It would fit my budget much better than anything else out there. Please help.

If you are referring to the subfloor, I would not suggest that. Even with a coat of poly, you are going to battle water issues forever.

Good Luck
