I saw that ceramic tiles can be painted after sanding and primer. We have cheap "plastic" tiles and I was wondering if they can be done the same way? Also any ideas on what to do with our bathroom counter top? It's outdated so can we paint it also or add tiles to it or any other suggestions? Looking for inexpensive ways to decorate ( but not look cheap ) because I'm a stay at home mom now. Thanks, SKM

how much moisture and water are these things going to be exposed to? Those are going to be the things that could cause the paint to fail. I would NEVER paint any tile in a shower because of the high humidity.

Your thought process might be that you realize that this is going to be a temporary fix and work towards a more permanent/appropriate fix...

What would you say to painting bathroom tile floors? I just hate blue and the tiles are blue flower thingys. I am going to try to remodel the bathroom my self but dont think I can handle the tile floorw right now. It is the main bathroom of the house.
thanks for any advice

Karen

Check out Zinsser paint. It is mold and mildew proof and needs no primer. We used it once to paint over bathroom tiles in an older home and it worked very well.
