We have an open master bathroom with a 3 sided fireplace where a doorway would logically be. We are looking for a door solution that will: 1)Shut out light and sound from the bathroom, including the see through portion of the fireplace 2)Allow easy exit/entry to/from the bathroom 3)Allow use of the fireplace 4)Not require us to rip out the existing vanity and sinks Please help! ![]()

Did you find a way to accomplish this? We have the same need with a house we are looking to buy and would like to confirm this type of project is feasible. Thank you.

No expert on this, but I suspect you'd need to replace the fireplace with one with only the front side open. I doubt you could put anything on the bathroom side of the fireplace to close it off or to allow you to put a door on the bathroom. I'd talk with a fireplace dealer that carries your fireplace brand first. Interesting design I assume the toilet at a minimum is in a separate room. General Disclaimer Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance. My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
