I am going to redecorate my bathroom. Cannot change layout or fixures. Big problem is I have a hugh "blue" corner garden tub with shower. Also have blue stool. (I DID NOT orginally decorate this room.) The floor is white lanolium with small blue flowers. Cabinets are wood which I cannot paint. I don't want fancy or loud colors. I would like to have a bath that is serene with a feeling of being at a beach without anymore BLUE. I am terrible at this sort of thing. Please, please help me. Thank you so much.

Nancy:

Pictures would help, if you could take some digital snaps and post them. What type of wood are the cabinets, what shade of blue is the tub and water closet, and what color are the walls?

This may be too late, but use sand color. That will help with the beach feel. Also, pictures and decorations like boats, beaches, sanddollars, shells, etc.

Thank you!! I had planned to do starfish and a few shells but still hadn't decided on a wall color. I really like your idea of the sand color. Again, thank you.

What about peel & stick floor tiles with more of that sand/wood color? Works great over linoleum as long as the floor is secure. Why can't you paint the cabinet?
