I really like Antonio and his crew, Chewie too. The show is refreshing, a different type of style and going outside the box. The other designs shows are getting so boring, doing the same old designs. Antonio has a unique perspective on design, uses different items, you wouldn't think of, and I find the show very entertaining.
The design show I would like to see go is Secrets of a Stylist - makes no sense!!!
Different ideas???? Antonio has used others ideas from co-contestants on DS (white couch written on with blk marker), used an ideas from Candice Olsen (Jenga wooden wall covering), and another idea that I can't remember. A clt asked for Spanish style and he gave her Mexican decor. If this "out of the box" designer took time to research Spanish design and "not wing" becuase it was HE wants to do...he might make a decent designer. He guys a fraud. His designs are not practical or realistic for real living. This guy should be thankful for the blessings he's received, because it's just all luck...and manipulation of the HGTV system. In addition, his character especially towards women is DEPLORABLE. And yes, character is important besides the "out of the box" thinking.

OMG!! I wish all these people like Kendra, Skaboy, and Patel would just give it a rest. None of us are going to have Antonio for dinner. I think Charlie Sheen is a moron, but it doesn't make Two and a Half Men any less funny. This is a message board to discuss design, not moral fiber, IMHO

Well I like watching Antonio and his crew do up a room in his own funky style. Maybe I wouldn't necessarily want it for my house in the suburbs, but I think there's lots of people out there with different tastes that would appreciate Antonio's style. The biggest reason why I watch his show is that it's upbeat, I like the rock music they play, and I think Antonio is funny the way he goes about designing. I like him and his show.

I am SO with you Charles...every time I say this they come back with it being a right to discuss anything they want...apparently they haven't read the rules that say no personal b a s h i n g. I may not like all his designs but I have come to appreciate some of what he does.

Oh no. I'm sorry to hear this too! Then again, we live in a society where air-heads like Paris Hilton (no talent) & Reality Stars (like Jersey Shore) are made into role models and celebrities for fist-fighting, etc. Maybe one day I'll get it, but Ballatore isn't a designer.

@LainLA - Thanks to all the people who made Ballatore, because it's rare when he does something buy himself. It's not what you know - it's who you know. Darn good scheme he has going - I'll give him that much. Street smarts sometimes pays off when directed in positive directions.(and good friends don't hurt either). Well, when one's on top, there's nowhere else to go, but down. So, I hope he enjoys it.

I really enjoy this show! And for the record, I am your average middle-aged mom. I wear Keds, not combat boots and piercings and tattoos frighten me, but yet I LOVE Antonio and his crazy crew! It is so different and fun. Even the way it is filmed is unique, makes it feel like you are watching a documentary instead of just another design show.
I literally have HGTV on day and night. But Antonio's show is the one I actually sit down to watch in it's entirety! Even my quiet, traditional 75 year old mother gets a kick out of it!
I am really surprised at the negativity over this. Please, HGTV, don't trade in Antonio for another same old same old! We love his uniqueness!

I gotta admit, I didn't like Antonio's *treatments* the first couple of times I watched his show, and I stopped watching them completely.
However,
I recently watched the program a couple of times over the last month, and I actually like what he's done - More importantly, the clients seemed to LOVE him and his work!

I totally agree with you! His is the one show I look for! He is such a teddy bear that even though I am worlds apart from him in many ways, he is also one of just a few designers I feel warm and fuzzy about. I just plain feel good after watching his show.
I think he's a lot of fun to watch too, and his designs are never boring and predictable. Whatever his character defects may be, his show is one of my favorites!
