I bought canna last year, planted them in sun, they grew 5-6 inches and then just stopped.
This year I tried again, bought new ones, they grew again 5-6 inches and then nothing............. I love canna, anyone have any ideas?? I'm puzzled. Gelato |

Are they getting enough water? They love the sun, but love a lot of water too.

If your weather is in the 90's, they need watering every day.
You also need to use liquid fertilizer every 7 to 14 days. I use slow release fertilizer in the early spring after all frost is gone, and then start a liquid fertilizer program every 7 days in June and July. |

How deep did you plant? I have had a few that didnt get big, replanted them with the root just a couple inches down. Also, take a look at the plant, if you've got leaves that are not opening up, it could be worms. I bought tobacco and soaked in in water, poured on the plants and it got rid of the worms.
