Hey all! Good Tuesday morning!
I got my hands on some Peony bulbs/tubers.They were dug and left out in the sun for a couple weeks. They're dry. Are they still okay? Can I plant them as I would any other bulb/tuber? Any special requirments needed?
Thanks in advance...... Smile

I think the tubers are pretty hardy/resilient. My deceased grandfather's house has a mess of an old garden. 2 years ago, I dug a tuber from one of his peonies in July, and just planted it in my backyard. It has been doing well ever since. I think these plants can take a lot of abuse and still be ok. Plus, really cool flowers in June.

Peonies have roots and they are neither bulbs or tubers. The roots are pretty hardy and can take much abuse and leaving them out in the sun for two weeks is just that. The only way you will know whether they will survive is to plant them. Look at the top of the clump and ocate the "eyes" that will be next years top growth and be sure, when you plant them, those eyes are not too deep, more than an inch or so below the soil surface.
