I cut them back to 2-3 ft. when the temps get cool (around 45) and put them either in my sunroom or the pool house which is not heated and it does not get any direct sun light. Water lightly during the winter. You can put them back out as soon as all signs of frost is gone and feed them bloom booster all spring and summer. I have had the same ones for years. Just don't let them freeze and they will be fine.

Years ago, we cut ours within a foot of the soil leaving lots of leaves. We normally put container plants in a south facing window on a table and let them grow all winter long. Don't make the soil too wet. I never fertiliz during the winter. But this one year, we put one in a north facing window and it kept very well until.

Please note...wait until the night temps are in the 70's to put them outside again. We put one out in the spring and it was too cool at night for it. We lost that one.

I'm in Maryland, zone 7. Can I put my mandevilla and hibiscus in the garage, in front of a window? Or do they have to be in the house?
Thanks.
