I posted in the spring that I wanted to plant perennials from seed, and my experiment turned out great! I planted purple coneflowers, russian sage and rubeccia. and all have done well. For some reason I've gotten alot of rubeccia, but only one has flowered. Also, something is eating the leaves of my purple coneflowers, anyone have an idea? All in all I consider it a great success, as I've been hand watering since we are in a drought.

Anyone have a suggestion of seeds I can plant this fall for next spring? I read some seeds like to "winterover"...

I tried alot of plants from seed over the winter. Most did bad(my first attempt from seed) but the coneflowers and black eyed susans did great. I would highly suggest that anyone that wants a lot of plants for their garden to grow these plants from seed. Easy to maintain, mine all bloomed the first year and good looking flowers as well.

Did you plant them and transplant them or just put the seeds in the garden.
