Hello! I've recently purchased a new home - the appliances come with it and until I can redo the kitchen completely, I'd like to paint the walls and do a bit of refreshing. However, the kitchen has almond appliances - I've not had nor seen almond in a while! The cabinets are wood, an oak color and older. The countertop was refreshed and is tiled (beige tile in picture) - the backsplash as well (gray/mixed in picture).

I'd be very interested in some decorating idea's from you all. What color would be good for the walls? Should I paint the cabinets? Any idea's at all would be appreciated! Thank you!

Hello QTDamsel,

It has hard to tell from the pictures you posted what your kitchen looks like, but from the colors you described a dark red or maroon would be a good option. The picture are examples of Benjamin Moore paint that I believe would complement well.

For more advice on finding the best paint color for your kitchen walls, check out our article "Colors for the Kitchen in 2013."

Hope the advice helps,
