I have a corner appliance garage in my kitchen that is a one piece unit. I was wondering if the bottom portion can be cut off to make just a wall cabinet unit. Has anyone done this before? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Jet Lu,

I've read your post several times and I'm still not sure what you're looking to do. Are you wanting to cut the portion of the cabinet off that goes from the bottom of the other cabinets down to the counters and remove it so the upper cabinet is in line with the others? Or are you looking to cut this out and use it as a wall cabinet?
If the former, you'd probably need to remove the cabinet to make a clean cut and then reinstall it, no small task.
The other question I raise is why?
Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.
My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
