Cabinets Are Peeling
We remodeled our kitchen about seven years ago. Within the past few years it seems that the clear coat has started peeling on it leaving dull finishes in spots.

It's very disappointing considering these are solid wood cabinets and how much we spent for quaility. Any advice would be appreciated to return them to there beautiful state. They are maple with a coffee glaze on them. Thanks!

Can you contact the cabinet manufacturer/installer, and ask about this? At minimum they should know what product of glaze that they used, and if it failed prematurely, they should also correct the issue.

Other than that, I might take a door front (or drawer) into a pro paint store and ask their opinion on what to do to correct the issue. If you have a local cabinet shop, it may be something they could help you with too.

Thanks Conrad! That is a great idea about contacting the manufacturer. I'm really disappointed with how they look in such a short period of time.

You got a not solid wood type, instead what you have was only a laminated one which normally it convinced us that it was real wood because of how it was made. Please check here to know more about products that really made of real wood including kitchen cabinets and doors.
