Finally my kitchen remodel will start this Friday -- I have cream cabinets with a brown glaze, stainless appliances, a honey oak floor, antique silver patina hardware, a sunny southern exposure but a galley kitchen with not a TON of countertop space. I also have preselected a creamy blue/green/gray (very neutral) travertine subway style backsplash -- it is a subtle match to a large oriental rug that is visible from the kitchen to the dining room.

I HAD selected Brazilian Summer granite -- but now feel it may be too "golden" and has too much wavy movement foro the space. I want something a little darker -- for contrast -- yet it needs to tie in the cream, the golden brown and the soft blue green. You all are so great -- any suggestions?

Do you have any pics of your samples. Everything sounds wonderful to me. I too have a galley kitchen and want the color cabinets your described. I would love to see them.

It's hard to tell in photos but Auckland Brown granite has flecks that almost appear silvery blue metallic. We have it in our kitchen on one long wall and one of the islands. Love it and it goes with the golds we have in the floor.

We are using "Golden Beach" in our new kitchen~to be started in a few weeks. Since we have purchased it~I have seen many pics of golden beach that vary greatly from very plain to very dramatic~all called "golden beach" I forgot how to post pics and wish I could because we have a beautiful slab of granite.

As long as you have seen your actual slab and like it~that is all that matters. You will be living with this granite for a long time and your opinion is truly the only one that matters.
Good luck ~ abd ebjoy your new kitchen....I know I cannot wait for mine!

I don't have a photo of my cabinets -- but they are made by Armstrong -- Serenity Maple Pearl with taupe glaze. I am going to look at slabs tomorrow -- I am leaning to something more brown and less gold -- Brazilian Summer has all the right hues but I don't "love" the slab. I think I am going to listen to the advice about really really loving the slab and worrying less about "matching" the colors perfectly. I still want to pull it all together -- but right now I am going to look at Key West Gold and Giallo Napoleon -- and Golden Beach is on my list.

So thanks to all. I will post photos when done -- hopefully five weeks from now!

LOL. Well -- went to look at my slab of Brazilian Summer and loved it all over again! So . . . first instincts were correct. It was not near as "golden" as I rememberd -- and it just coordinates perfectly so I decided to use the brain God gave me and stick with it. Thanks for all the advice!
