I just bought a house, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do with the kitchen. From the picture, you'll see that it's a fairly open kitchen, with a lot of light. On the opposite side of the table is sliding patio doors . I'm thinking I want to go with a grey tones, so I have a few options: 1. Can this kitchen pull off black cabinets with light gray walls and a charcoal counter top? 2 White cabinets with the charcoal/black counter tops, again with grey walls, or 3. Leave the light wood cabinets, and still paint in grey. Or else, I'm not entirely opposed to using tan neutrals. Thoughts? Does anyone have any "real life" examples of kitchens with black cabinets?

A photo would help - 1) sounds dark, 2) heavy contrast - How about 3) and consider painting the walls taupe? Also, if you just purchased this home, you might want to live with the cabinets for awhile. You can always paint them later - Good Luck!
