What is the standard height from the floor and/or countertop for a potfiller? Or is it a matter of personal preference?

Lori.. when I was considering it they had both the wall & deck mount version... you can get them with dual handles also...

I bet Kohler has some guides to use...

Becky, I plan to have a wall mount. I've heard different heights so was just wondering if there was a standard.

I'd think you need a couple inches clearance on your tallest pot... I've seen some that are very adjustable and then others that have just 2-3" of vertical movement...

I don't know why you couldn't use the same type of system as any wall mount faucet...unless there is something about the gpm ... you'll have to tell us what you learn...

When I decided to have the cooktop under the window.. that gadget went off the grid... and there are many days I wish I had it...

Did you ever find an answer to the height to install your pot filler? We are installing one in a house we are building and am wondering the same question. I have read many posts where people recommend using your tallest pot as a gauge. Also, anyone have any thought or knowledge regarding whether or not to install it in the center of the range or to one side? I saw one recommendation on a site to install towards the left. I have seen pictures online of them installed in the center of the range and to the left of the range, with a small number installed on the right side of the range. Any insight and advice is very welcome!

Good question.

We've installed them ... and I still have yet to find a 'standard' spec from Mfg's like Kohler, Franke, Moen, etc.

We have the unit on hand when we rough and do the math providing adequate reach and clearance above a pot.

BUT ... forget not your tile backsplash layout!!!

Last thing you want to do is have the plumbing all roughed, only ro realize it conflicts with your proposed tile layout. I suggest having your layout done in advance -- especially when considering a pot filler.

The best pot filler installation I have seen was one way to the right, when folded to the right it folded right up under the cabinet. This made it totally out of the way when not in use. Kept the cooktop backsplash area free for a mural or other attractive backsplash. This would work either on the left or the right depending on your preference.

Not all pot fillers "fold" the same way. I think the one I saw was a Grohe. You would have to check out how the folding goes before buying.

I decided since you have to lift and move the big pot (usually when it's hot) to the sink to dump or drain anyway, that I would skip the pot filler and use the ** on something else.

Send pics of yours after it's done.
