We thought the LG counter-depth french door refrigerator received great reviews. However, now we are hearing the opposite - that they are terrible and the service is even worse!

My husband is not 100% sold on the Jenn Air counter-depth french door model and our kitchen is so small we would really like to keep the appliance handles similar. I think we have to go with the Jenn Air or LG.

    Opions on the LG?

I'd go with Jennair over LG. I've never owned an LG but I remember someone telling me how they used to be known under a different name years ago and had really crappy appliances I think it was Goldstar. All I know LG for is the flat screen tv's and I think their TV's are awful compared to the Samsung and Panasonic. I have friends who bought the LG appliances when they came out w/the front load washer/dryers and had buyers remorse some of them had problems with them and said the customer service was horrible. I have always had GE appliances when I had a problem with my fridge they sent someone out the tech looked at the fridge called the company and the next day I had a brand new fridge.

I have the LG French Door fridge. Not the ****$fancy one with the tv and ice maker in the door.
Mine is 2 years old and I've not had any problems with it so far. I also have the LG front load washer and dryer. Same thing, not a single problem. They are also 2 years old. I had read everything I could about LG in Consumers Report, Complaints.com, Epinions.com. I didn't read derogatory remarks 2 years ago, but don't know about now. I understand it used to be the Goldstar name. Made in Korea if that helps. Good luck! Wink

We just purchased new appliances (not from a big box store) and the representative did not recommend the LG at all. She said she would sell it to us, but would rather not. We went with GE profile. We've been very happy with it...for 2 whole weeks Smile

I have the JennAir french door bottom freezer with the water inside. It's great! Keeps everything super fresh and has plenty of room even though it's counter depth. The store we purchased from (about a year ago) said LG was having door sealing issues and advised we not go with LG at that time.

I have Jenn air floating glass side by side counter depth fridge.
We love it.. it is great.. everything stays fresh .. DH is a vegiterian so our veggies last a long long time in the fridge.. I don't have to shop weekly for them anymore.. fruits and veggie last just over two weeks in there.. and it has a lot of space.. I love that the racks in side are adjustable with a turn of the hand.. very easy to move things around in a second.. and the freezer is great to..
our customer service is great with jennir and LG.. no issues at all

I have nothing bad to say about LG but we only have there washer and steam dryer.. love it as well. no complaints.. We also have and LG portable dvd player. we are very happy with ther products.

If you are thinking about LG check with an appliance repair man first. In the past they were known to produce good appliances but they had no structure in place to repair them or provide parts. So basically you were buying a disposable appliance that hopefully had no problems in the warrenty period. Maybe this has been rectified.
