We've bought a small cottage built in the 40s and will keep the cabinets but paint them. I want to leave the doors off 3 of the uppers and paint the inside a contrasting color. Was thinking about painting the outsides a tann-ish color and the insides a dark olive green. Have looked at 1000s of kitchen pictures and don't see two-color cabinets. Is this passé?

I wouldn't worry about its being passe if I were you. Just be sure to save the doors in case you ever change your mind or decide to sell. Remember--it's only paint!!!!
