How much copper plumbing can recover from a four-bedroom house? Sign In/Join
posted
Hello Community,

I'm a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, and we want to find out if it's worth salvaging from an 10-unit, all-copper-plumbing housing development that's about to be bulldozed.

Thank You
Amalia Markous

copper is high value metal and here the recycle centers even have signs out offering extra for copper and people are stealing it out of abandoned homes .I am glad all my piping is not copper and they are even stealing the romex wire out of houses for the copper .Check online and it will give you the prices for it for your area

Amalia is a spammer that goes by several names on the board. "Her" whole purpose is to post her business link.

General Disclaimer

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

i think this bunch is a hoot. Instead of sharing their knowledge of the plumbing business they have chosen a way to spam that makes them look pretty inept. And who would want to hire a plumber that doesn't seem to know the basics....

No they wouldn't even consider hiring them. Theft of copper wire from electrical lines has been in the news in Ft. Worth, TX. If this spammer new squat he wouldn't need to post this thread. Why would someone want to hire an uniformed plumber? Seriously, this spammer who has gone so far as to post the same thread title twice. Do they really thinks they are helping their business?

There are internet "businesses" that will guarantee to boost your website views (I have been personally approached by them). They search for sites like this, (they are not the business themselves). It is not much cash per click...but if anyone does click on their posted links...the spammer gets paid a little bit.
Multiply that by a few hundred....and, well business is increased at least at the site level. The business owner may have no idea where this "sudden interest" is coming from, but he/she is no doubt paying for it.

NEVER click on spammers links!

Any plumber worth their salt knows what copper is costing them in a supply house as well as the salvage rates...
I did google the company... interesting read. A company in business that long should not need to spam anyone.
Questions posted here make them look like a doofus...

They have an office listed near some of our suppliers ( as well as one of the large plumbing suppliers)... might be worth a drive by next week...
