Backsplash help!
Hello,

We are in the middle of renovating our kitchen and chose the attached granite (cream delicatus). Our cabinets are a cherry burgundy (ass displayed in the picture). I am having a hard time deciding on the backsplash. The set up of our kitchen is open with an island in the middle with lots of natural light from the windows. I want the granite to be the focal point and I would like something modern and clean. Open to your suggestions and advice.

Thanks in advance!
Megha

Hard as I try, I just can't see it...

Oh.

Anyway...

To answer your question - full height splash of that same stone slab would look modern. If you want to go even more contemporary, you could always go with solid glass or plastic panels.

I've installed that Delicatus full height on dark cherry, and it looks elegant.

Regards.

Megan, the subway tile is very popular right now and has a timeless look IMO. How about something like that?

Repost your question on the "Decorating" section and you'll get more opinions than you can handle! I like the Granite you picked out.

Its a gorgeous granite, but if you pair it with a backsplash your best bet is to stay with something very simple as there is a lot of movement in your stone or else it becomes to busy. I like the idea of subway tile, but I always thought it looks odd if you don't have white cabinets to tie the look together. For me, something looks "off" so to speak. I'd take the same slab as your backsplash and think that would look stunning or even a glass subway tile in a soft color.
