We're in the middle of a DIY kitchen renovation, and I figured out a way to use an Ikea drawer kit to create a hidden toekick drawer in the unused space under the base cabinets. I thought the HGTV crowd might enjoy the idea:

I'm trying to add a picture to show what I mean. Let's try again!

I believe this idea has already been shown on one of the Kitchen Crasher Shows. I thought the idea was FABULOUS! I wondered why these spaces went unused and only collected dust when torn out. I keep thinking of the number of jelly roll/cookie sheets that could be stored there. Woohoo!

I think the drawer idea is terrific too.

Also: The under cabinet space has also been used as a great place to hide valuables, (with no drawer). Just make the cabinet bottom removable and able to lift out to hide things underneath.

great idea conrad may take the ones out in the masterbaths to put a bottom in and put my jewelery box and small safe in .I will have to put a floor under between the joists but that is easy to do .Would great place to hide a lot of things
