Happy New Year to all!

We are trying to choose a granite for our kitchen:
Flooring is :Jura Grey Limestone
Cabinets: Oak Java

We are trying to find a granite which will warm up the kitchen and compliment to jura grey limestone. Any ideas and suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks!

Visit the dealer's supply yard to see the actual pieces, not just little 5x5" samples. Take your samples of the flooring and cabinets with you. There isn't a better way to choose than that IMHO.

Have you visited The Granite House?

They sell a range of granite and quartz worktops in a variety of colours. They do granite tiles and off cuts too!

Id highly recommend them!

You should definitely select your slab in person.

If you post photos of your flooring and cabinets, I'm sure you'll receive many responses regarding complimentary colors.

Good Luck!

Hello designbug2013,

I agree with KG in CA. You should visit a supplier to see the actually slabs of granite countertop. Looking at samples may not guarantee that the slab will look the same. Each slab is different due to the nature of the granite rock. "Movement" is the term used to describe the shift in color and pattern of the stone. There are over 3,000 different variations and stone colors to choose from.

As far as recommendations for which colored granite, I would suggest a white or yellow/gold countertop to match the oak java cabinets.

Hope this helps, if you want to learn more information on granite countertops check out the article...
