Hanging beadboard Sign In/Join

We are hanging beadboard panels and they are straight edged and not the interlocking tongue and groove. When butted together they have a small (I measured not even 1 cm) seam between the 2 panels due to not being the interlocking. Is there anything I can do to disguise the seam, is it something I have to live with, or is just accepted that this will happen? We never hung this before, we're DIYers learning as we go. TIA

A common trick is to paint the wall behind the beadboard the color of the grooves in the bead board so any gaps aren't as noticeable.

What color is the beadboard? Can you find a caulk that is similar in color to the beadboard gaps? Is it all installed or did you stop when you found the gap issue?

General Disclaimer

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
