Hi friends, I am in a plan to buy a new closet and am thinking about this custom closets. Have you tried it before? When I searched on it, some are wall mounted and some floor mounted. Which one is effective? This message has been edited. Last edited by: merlinbryan,
I would look more at how well they are constructed versus how they are mounted. I would assume any floor mounted system would be attached to the wall as well.
One advantage to the wall mounted method may be it won't come down to the floor making it easier to vacuum in your closet. If it sits on the floor you may need to cut the carpet out to have it on the wood or concrete floor. Mine were site built before the carpet was installed so they rest on the floor and are connected to the walls. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Sparky,

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.
My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
I have installed a wall bed unit in my bedroom a year ago. With that, I was able to remove all other storage furniture and conserve space. It is the guys of Organized Interiors who helped me to do it.
