We have a 3-sided fireplace with glass doors and metal surround. The metal has a brushed bronze-brashish finish that was damaged when a burning ember rolled off the fire grate and rested against the metal; the ember has removed some of the finish on the metal surround and it's unsightly. This has happened on 2 of the 3 sides. The affected area is about 12" long by 2.5" high.
Any ideas on how to camouflage or fix this without removing all of the surround and having it refinished?
We had shiny brass doors on our WB fireplace. It removed them, cleaned and dried them well (taped off the glass doors with tape and newspaper) and first primed and then top coated them with a Satin finish, high heat, black spray paint for grills and such. They now look updated.
Thanks for the reply.
