We are starting a bathroom remodel. I am wanting to put new brown/beige tile on the walls. Do you think I should keep this cabinet door white? Or should I put a new door on that is stained brown? Also would you trim it out with white(like the trim around my window) or a stained brown trim? Thank you so much! My eye for design is not very good, any advice is greatly appreciated.
What is that cabinet? Access to plumbing? If it must stay, downplay it by making it blend in with the new tile colorwise. That includes the trim around it.
I'd agree with Froo. If it isn't needed to access the plumbing for the bathtub I'd probably eliminate it. What is above this cabinet? It just seems strange if it is in fact a cabinet and not a plumbing access panel that is doesn't go up to the ceiling or at least a standard size door.
Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.
My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
