I have an open hallway and one side is wall and other side is old black wrought iron railing. I want to update reasonably priced!! I would love to remove but cannot. I am thinking of painting it using Rust-Oleum Universal Oil Rubbed Bronze paint and it seems to only come in spray. I cannot spray this in my living room???? Any suggestions besides removing railing which I cannot do. I wish they made this stuff in a can.
I have used Rust-Oleum paint from a one-quart can, but not recently. Last time I looked it was available in several colors. I presume it is still available. It is possible that it is just not stocked in the home center you frequent. Try going online.
The Rustoleum site is a great resource and can direct you as to what type of paint and prep in necessary, as well as where to buy it in your area. If they carry it, it can be special ordered for you.
Some of the specialty finishes (like hammered metal) can only be accomplished with the spray paint. There is a way to spray indoors, but it involves a LOT of masking and tenting of the surfaces and area around the item to be sprayed.
Are you sure there is no way to remove the railing and do it elsewhere???
