Hi. We're hiring for painting and crown molding in our living room. and hall way.The guy came and told us for $ 300 for painting and $750 for molding (7 corners) which is his labor and patching nail holes. our living room and hallway is approximately 120" and height is 7.5'. Do you think it's standard price? We live in a small town in MA and I have known him as his good work.

Hard to say if the molding price is right from here. He is onsite and seeing the task. As a guess, his price for painting is low if anything.

Molding and painting are not included. I bought primed crown molding and 2 gallon of Behr ultra. Thank you.

If you only have 7 1/2 foot ceilings crown molding is probably not going to be a good look.

I thought crown molding gives some kind of illusion that the ceiling is taller? Thank you. By the way he will paint molding and that price is included. I think I am paying reasonable fee for the job (agree on Bob that his painting is low) but any input will be very appreciated.

The crown molding will attract your eye and will accentuate the low ceiling.
