I am remodeling and have taken down the 20 year old wallpaper in my kitchen. When I removed the paper down the the sheetrock big hinks of paper pulled of the sheetrock. I tried to cover it using compound. I allowed it to dry and sanded it down even. When I began to paint the paper bubbled and am not sure what to do now. Please help me!!!!!!!

What paper bubbled? Did you not get it all off the wall?

Be sure there is no moisture still in the mud. That would cause the bubbling and also use primer first.

Adding to the discussion, will the Gardz product replace a coat of primer or do I need to use both?

Thanks for the info on the Gardz. I have a problem in my bathroom, paint peeling on the upper portion of the wall(near the ceiling) where steam tends to accumulate, this Gardz sounds like it will help
