I really want wall decals for my room, but my walls are bumpy and textured, will I have to sand down my walls a bit, and re-paint (I'm re-painting anyways) for the wall decals, or will they work with the bumps? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Lindavald, lelinda swamp

If these are the kind that you can easily peel and re-stick them, I'd just try it on the wall as is. If it doesn't look good, I'd mount it to some foam board and hang it up on the wall rather than trying to smooth the wall. If they are semi-permanent I'd definitely stick it to foam board and not directly to the wall. Another option to smooth the wall a bit would be to use paintable wallpaper underliner. This heavy paper will smooth paneling, cinderblock and textures to allow you to install wall paper or paint. It is available at home centers and paint stores that sell wall paper. General Disclaimer Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance. My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
