Hi. first post and i need help. Our computer room carpet was gross so we took it out. We were hoping to match the tile up in the room with the tile in the rest of the house. Unfortunately, the tile can't be found anywhere. Should we A) tile with different color B)Wood laminate C)New Carpet. We're not sure what would be better for the house when we sale it.

I'm not a fan of tile anywhere other than a bathroom but a lot would depend on location. If I were in Florida or anywhere near a sandy beach I might opt for tile. If I were in a hotter climate (TX, AZ, NM, So CA, NV)I might opt for tile. That said, I'd go for a contrasting but complimenting tile or possibly laminate or hardwoods. If you're going to use this room as a computer room and have a chair on wheels I'd opt for a very low pile carpet if I went the carpet route. General Disclaimer Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance. My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

It makes a difference where you are located and how soon you intend to sell.

Tile is pretty common there. If there is a door to the room I would go with a different color of tile. Don't try to get close to the existing tile color/style it will always look wrong.
