You can usually find a contractor, for a small job in particular, as a local ad listing for a handyman. When I was contracting in SoCA I once listed with a local firm near home, but never had enough free time to do anything for them. They checked me out and had me take a simple safety check before they would recommend me.

A person living in a small community might have difficulty finding such a company. But here in this small town in CO you can find many contracting services advertised in local free papers.
