Wallpapering over painted walls?
Thanks...I am planning on having done a lot of wallpapering, it is not prepasted, but was wondering if I had the walls just painted now, could I come back and paper over it when I have the time and money? Or would the walls have to be re-prep'd some way?

Wall paper "Sizing" used to always be applied to a wall prior to hanging most all wallpaper. Have not applied wallpaper to "virgin" walls in decades, so things might have changed?
I would check recommendations on wallpaper packaging or inquire where you purchase the paper, when the time comes.

Wallpaper sizing is a great idea to make the job go faster and better. The sizing - which can be just thinned paste - allows you to position the paper easier. It may also give better adhesion, but I don't know. I would size any type of paint before papering.

If you don't prepare the walls be prepared to rip out the wallboard. The sizing allows the wallpaper to adhere to the walls and be removed. Our builder didn't prepare the walls and we had to rip out the wallboard when we wanted to replace the wallpaper.
