About one week ago on the HGTV Designed to Sell show, I saw a fireplace remodeled by Chad Lopez and the electrician, building a wood mantle completely around the fireplace that incorporated a built in plazma TV above the fireplace. I believe the wood was then painted white. There was moulding around the TV, so the TV looked as if it were in a picture frame. This made the fireplace and TV the focal point of the living room/family room. I tried looking for it on the HGTV website, but I could not find it. Does anyone know where I can find either a picture of this fireplace/TV combination or a video of it on the HGTV website? Thanks for any help you can provide.

It is certainly hard to find anything on HGTV.com. Was so much easier before they redid the web site.
Anyway, I couldn't find anything either but I wanted to tell you that there was a discussion quite some time ago and quite a few people were moving their tv off from over the fireplace. It was just too high to view comfortably. |

Thanks, metwo, for the information about the people moving their TVs off from over the fireplace. I never thought about the fact that it could be uncomfortable to watch at that angle. Good point! I guess I'll have to come up with another idea.
