Looking to get DH a new work lite as this one has some issues. It also gets really hot, so it must have a Halogen bulb???
Can anyone give Santa a recommendation for a new light?

No answers?

That light looks really neat! I made one something like that out of scrap materials I had handy and I used a halogen bulb because it was bright and compact. It ran hot but I was careful and got along with it just fine. I think I put the handle on the back of the light so it wouldn't get too hot to touch.

Otherwise, I suggest you look at nearby home centers and see if you can find one that will be satisfactory.

I have probably went through 1/2 dozen of those in the last several years. Problem that I found with them is that the 500 watt burn so hot that it makes the ceramic bulb holders brittle and they fall apart. If they are under warranty I try to get replacement bulb holders.

They have some newer styles out from that original design that have overcome those problems. I would google "Portable work lights" and see what is out there. The newer LED use less electric and are brighter than the older ones. They also have some fluorescent ones now.
