We just had hardwood flooring installed. We understand that there should be gaps in some planks to allow for expansion, however some of our gas are pretty wide. They are wide enough to fit 3 credit cards in, and we can see the subfloor easily. Should we pursue having the contractor come out and fix it or should we just find some filler?
thanks!

The thickness of 3 credit cards is a bit much. I would have the company come back out. You don't want to use filler to fix the problem, as the boards expand and contract it will pop the filler out.

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.
