We just had hardwood flooring installed. We understand that there should be gaps in some planks to allow for expansion, however some of our gas are pretty wide. They are wide enough to fit 3 credit cards in, and we can see the subfloor easily. Should we pursue having the contractor come out and fix it or should we just find some filler? thanks! The thickness of 3 credit cards is a bit much. I would have the company come back out. You don't want to use filler to fix the problem, as the boards expand and contract it will pop the filler out.
