I bought a tankless hot water tank. I wanted to know the average price for installation. Part of the problem is that it is gas and needs to be vented to the outside. Anyone know the prices in Philadelphia and a good plumber that can do the job.

This is so site dependent it is impossible to say. Tankless units can be installed on the outside of a house or on an outside wall. The units themselves run about $1200 for a gas unit, I'd bet installation would run another $500 plus. A direct vent gas water heater runs $850 (just did one in May), a standard gas water heater (with a roof vent) runs about $450-500.

I had one installed in a rental long ago (12 years) for $150. I watched how he did it so I could install mine here at my home. Both are gas & my tenant & I are delighted at the lowered gas bill and hot water forever. I think you will be happy you bought it.
