Liquid sandpaper Sign In/Join

Planning to restain my bannister and need to remove the old polyurethane. Have any of you used the liquid sandpaper product? Did you like it. I saw it being used on a DIY show.

If you plan to RE-STAIN, I don't think the liquid sandpaper product is going to help you. I believe is is just for surface deglossing painted surfaces to make them ready for new paint.

Stain will need the raw wood, so removal of all the poly will be necessary to get to that stage. If you have standard bannister rails, buying a new unfinished bannister from the home store will allow you to finish is with the right stain and clear coat that you want.
