I am closing on a new condo and plan to install hardwood before moving in for all living space except the bedroom. I'm going for the contemporary look, I've attached some pics of the place. I found nice ipe brazilian smooth walnut thinking it would contrast well with the cabinets? Or a Brazilian Cherry similar to whats already installed in the kitchen. ![]()

drf, have you checked with your condo rules and regulations? They often have strict guidelines as to what can and cannot be installed. If you haven't checked already, please do so before you make a costly investment into something you can't install. "Richness does not entail luxury, nor simplicity cheapness" Gustav Stickley

Defiantly need to get approval from the board first. I just had my floors done in my condo and had to jump through hoops. Another thing to consider is if you have concrete sub floors (if you are on the ground floor). If you do, then you will have to use a moisture sealant.

Remember the darker the floor the more dirt they show.
