We are finally having our carpet taken out of our entire house and replaced with tile. We are also going to have our kitchen cabinets refaced and our counter tops switched out. Is there a preference in which should be done first?

I would start with refacing the cabinets. Then counters or floors wouldn't matter which one is first. Though I'd probably do the floors last just incase a tool were dropped while the cabinets were being refaced or the counters installed. Tiles will break if a tool is dropped on them.
My neighbor just had his cabinets refaced, granite put in and next up is getting his hardwoods refinished.
Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.
My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
I think the preference is based off of your lifestyle. If you have a party or family gathering where you have to cook and bake food within the next couple weeks then I would suggest having the floors done first. How your lifestyle is going to be affected by the changes is how you should think about your decision for what should be done first. Trying to plan to what will be the smallest inconvenience in your life will be the smartest decision.
Hope this helps!

Would be recommended to do cabinet work first.Next I would do floors. The counter tops I would leave until last as part of finish work this way there is no chance of them getting damaged.
