Hello Admin. Hello Gumby Big Grin Some of us have been discussing this in the backyard Shhh so I thought I would ask. Why can't we just guess here on the MB? Why try to send us to the blog? So many do not go there. THIS is where it all began....just saying

I'm laughing about how sneaky HGTV is about the DREAM HOME. Sure...give the clue of Hawaii, and create quite a stir that it will be there. Even the midwest has home developments that have Hawaiian names. Nebraska has quite a development in Omaha with one of them. Since I can't enter comments on the blog, I'll leave my clue as Nebraska. Fits today's picture. I was just waiting for today's pic. clue. Clever, clever, clever!

Is there a more temperate, idyllic, wonderful spot than the Hawaiian Islands? It is time to commit to a real dream!

I'll take some of those gumby wings, Beachy!

Green Alice I'd love a beach house on Lake Michigan! Have vacationed many times in MI and love it plus hubby has tons of family there to share a fine lake front home.

Been to Hawaii twice and loved it but it's pricey and ** to get family over to visit. Still, I'd be happy to win a home there too.

Wherever DH 2012 is I'll be entering and dreaming.

HGTV chooses Wasatch County site for “Dream Home” giveaway

HGTV’s 2012 "Dream Home" will be a 45-minute commute from Salt Lake City — and some lucky person will win the whole thing.

HGTV is building a 4,000-square-foot modern Western ranch house at the River Meadows Ranch development, north of Heber City and Midway in Wasatch County, for its annual sweepstakes.

"It’s just a beautiful piece of land," said Jack Thomasson, HGTV’s professional home planner, who is responsible for choosing the site and overseeing the design, construction and decorating. "The location on the Provo River is just spectacular."

The site of the Dream Home was announced Friday; construction began about a month ago. It’s the 16th year of the giveaway.

HGTV received more than 76 million entries to win the Stowe, Vt., Dream Home earlier this year.

"It’s considered the largest sweepstakes in television," Thomasson said.

Individuals can enter once per day between Dec. 30, 2011, and Feb. 18, 2012. The Dream Home will be unveiled in an HGTV special on Jan. 1.

The house was designed by Salt Lake City firm JSA Architects and is being built by Rimrock Construction, a company based in Draper. River Meadows Ranch is being developed by Sandy-based Rockworth Companies.

"Our goal is for the house to fit as perfectly into this region as we can make it," Thomasson said. "We don’t want to come in and build something that doesn’t belong here."

Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of September, followed by two months of filming — for HGTV’s magazine, the hour-long TV special, an online virtual tour and commercials that promote the sweepstakes and the special.

HGTV Dream Home 2012 Located Near Park City, Utah

NEW YORK, June 3, 2011 -- A new, fully-furnished modern western ranch house near Park City, Utah, home of the Sundance Film Festival, awaits the winner of the 2012 HGTV Dream Home Giveaway. The giveaway will open for entries on December 30, 2011. Located at the Rockworth Companies' River Meadows Ranch, the 16th annual HGTV Dream Home is nestled on the banks of the Provo River with easy access to Wasatch State Park. Information about the new home is available at Dream Home central on HGTV.com/dreamhome.

Built by Rimrock Construction, the almost 4,000 square foot home with amazing mountain views will be an outdoor lover's dream, featuring five covered decks, an outdoor living room and a laundry room replete with lockers for skis, waders and fishing rods. The house also features four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a dedicated game room and a gourmet chef's kitchen perfect for entertaining. During the winter, homeowners and visitors alike will delight in skiing and snowboarding in the unparalleled Utah powder. During the rest of the year, water sports, golfing, hunting, mountain biking, hiking and fly fishing are readily available.

"Each year we seek out an amazing, dreamy location for the HGTV Dream Home, and this year is no exception," said HGTV Professional Home Planner Jack Thomasson. "The Provo River corridor is a spectacular site and will inspire the extraordinary home design that HGTV viewers have to come to expect in the HGTV Dream Homes."

"Rockworth Companies is thrilled that HGTV selected its community for its 2012 HGTV Dream Home," said Rockworth representative Tom Henriod. "Given its tremendous following, the giveaway represents a perfect opportunity for the greater Park City area, Wasatch County and the State of Utah to showcase their international appeal as incredible places to live and recreate."

I love these views! I could quietly retire here! Bring the goats (yeah, I've now got goats! and turkeys, chicken, and quail, LOL!)(and still have the parrots that will need their own bedroom, sounds like a covered deck would make the perfect aviary!) Beautiful!
