Hi. Want to do a texture accent wall but not sure what to use. Want the look of a vertical line similar to bead board. Don't want to take the plunge and install the real wood bead board. Saw bead board texture papers but not sure about that either! Any cheap material ideas out there? I was thinking some kind of thin corrugated cardboard paper? In roll foam but thin? Ideas would be great thanks.
Why don't you just paint skinny stripes?
As long as you definitely want that bead board look, why not just do high grade bead board paper?
Paper is on its way back again you know.
Now if you are not stuck on bead board, friends of ours did the most smashing looking thing themselves in their home that many still talk about.
They took supermarket paper bags, crushed them and wrinkled them, and papered the walls with them. Then they put a polyurethane finish on them that made the texture look shiny and decorator looking.
Maybe I'm not explaining it correctly but I hope you can visualize the idea. This message has been edited. Last edited by: arepo24,
Bead board is a traditional style of wall painting that is made of evenly spaced interlocking groove wood elements. The humble elegance of the bead board detailing can add antique country feel to any room of your house.
