Lowes has gold "granite crystals" that you mix into paint for a metallic looking finish. I'd like to do my dining room celing with it but would like to know more about it first. Anyone?
I have used it in two bedrooms with the granite paint. When my wife picked the granite paint I was not happy as I did not want textured walls, but after doing the first room, I loved it. It made all the wrinkles, dents, dings ect from a 50 year old house dissapear. The crystals just add a bit of sparkle to the finish...your eye catches the light reflected off them. Then you look closely and see that they are sparkles. I don't know how they would look mixed in with regular paint if that is what you are planning on. You can always paint over it if it does not come out the way you want. (been there, done that)
Thanks. Yes, I want to use regular paint because I already have the shade I want. I think I'll miz a small amount and see what happens using a practice board. I really wouldn't want to re paint the ceiling though! Do you have to use a rollor or can I use a pad?And do you have to go just in one direction? Thanks for your help.
Hi!Yes we have used this product twice, we used an expresso or chocolate color for an accent wall with a teal color. BEAUTIFUL!! So then we used a light tan in a bathroom. It turned out OK, In the Bathroom it was a litte messy and it took more paint then we thought nessesary. It does give a really cool effect. Let us know how you liked it. I'm curious.
I have used the granite flexs in regular satin finish paint called Sweet Annie a green color on an accent wall in my home. It looks really nice. I mixed 2 packets in a gallon of paint. I get a lot of compliments on it. I also used a roller to paint the wall. How did you like it?
Well I decided not to use it. Now I'm looking at the Pealesance glaze by Valspar. Can't decide as it's the ceiling and not so easy to fix if I don't like it. Anyone used that product?
Ok folks... the roller definately does NOT work with the granite paint....however....a textured paint gun makes it look just like the swatch at the store. Look at my link...the 1st 5 photos were done with a roller....the rest with the popcorn paint gun (put on the lowest setting for spraying paint). Valspar Paint Jobs
