The photo was my grandpa, taken late 50's early 60's on a Browning camera, was in Goodings Grove Tavern in Lockport, IL (no longer there), and was taken after a long day on the farm meeting his buddies for a drink. My dad says 'he only wore his hat when he was working the farm.'
Unfortunately the photo was damaged over the years. Well...what can I say...my dad was speechless as he viewed the portrait. While I was speaking to him on the phone on Father's Day I was telling him about the gift I got him and had my mom show him on the laptop. I could tell he was getting emotional and he sat silent for a moment.
He was so surprised and excited because that is the only picture he has of his father who passed about 34 years ago. He shared the portrait with his mother and some of his 7 siblings and they were in awe. He could not believe how wonderful the portrait turned out since the photo is damaged. Thank you for taking our special project so personal.
