Painting ceiling fan Sign In/Join

Has anyone painted the metal part of a ceiling fan? I have a bright brass fan and can not afford to buy new Frown Would love to tone it down!!!

I did it to our brass ceiling fan and also a kitchen chandelier, completed a couple of years ago and they still look great.
I used airbrush paints with a small brush for certain tight areas and sponged on the two tones of white and off white. Mixed in some airbrush liquid bonding agent to make it very sticky to the metal. Air brush paints are very thin (small molecular) paints but extremely opaque so they work well for this.
