So I'm thinking to paint the kitchen cabinets white. They are currently painted brown. Any suggestions as to type of paint? When I did this to a different house, I used Behr interior/exterior Ultra Pure white paint. Is there a better paint for the job?
I'm surprised you have no answer.
Currently everyone insists that SherwinWilliams is the best. But I remember the time when everyone insisted that the Benjamin Moore was the best.
If the Behr has held up for you why change brands? I'm sure you know proper prep makes all the difference. Have fun
Taking in a door or drawer to one of the pro-paint stores is my suggestion. Either one of the two above or any other PRO paint store can often suggest a certain paint based on what you are working with and the result you desire.
For example when I painted my kitchen cabinets, SW suggested a commercial rated industrial enamel for the best coverage and self leveling. It was great stuff and has held up well.
Going to Home Depot can be a crapshoot, often based on who is working in the paint dept when you visit your local HD. I would rather speak to someone who sells only paint, is trained, and has the experience and feedback from professionals in the area than a HS Graduate who works weekends and parrots info they have heard.
And as mentioned above....prep is the most important part of the paint job. They can help advise you on that also.
