I have some lamps that have a brass finish to them and they are all pitted and I was wondering if there is someway that I could paint them or if you have any other suggesions what I could do to them

try some brasso cleaner (look at the grocery store) on them. if that dosn't work, i love the hammered metal paint sprays (look at kmart) not as harsh as "brass color"...

I've used rub n buff with good success on a couple of brass lamps that had gotten those pits and bad places. First I sanded them to a smooth surface, and then put on the rub n buff.
I didn't even put a sealer on these since the lamps don't get handled all that much, but it's probably a good idea to seal.

Yikes, these were really bad pictures, you can't see that much but I did put them together so you can get the idea, maybe.
