Staining concrete Sign In/Join
posted
My sidewalk and driveway were stained when I purchaed the house almost two years ago. It has faded and looks terrible. Any suggestions on better quality stain that will last longer? I assunme all I have to do is powerwash the area and reapply the stain. Any other necessary prep work?

Not knowing how the concrete was prepped and what they used, is a definite disadvantage for you.

I would plan to powerwash, and acid etch the area, to be sure to get good adhesion. Probably talk to Sherwin Williams or other pro paint store, too? We have used SW's solid color concrete stain that they sell, with fairly good results on our porch. Nothing lasts forever, but it is not difficult to touch up areas either, compared to the mess of paint peeling on concrete.
