Has anyone used beadboard before? How difficult is it to work with? Is it expensive? I recently saw a room done in it and it really looks good but I don't know anything about it at all. Anyone got any information? If you used it, would you use it again? Were you satisfied with the results?

    froggiemom,

I have not used beadboard, but I have been reading about it. They have some at one of the big box stores that is pre-cut to be 34 or 36 inches high, there's a special baseboard used and a top piece with the 34 or 36 inches beadboard. I have seen the bead board in sheets that are 8 ft. long. I have been unable to determine if the sheets would need the specal baseboard (the 8ft sheets seem to be thinner like paneling).

The beadboard I have seen in the shorter pieces is in unfinished pine or pre-painted white. Both are the same price and can be painted with another color (the unfinished could be stained.)

The pictures I have seen make a room look clean. I've noticed the beadboard is referred to as "cottage" style. Wink

I hope someone who has actually used the bead board will chime in.

    Sharon
