Can I be done? The house we moved into has paneling in the kitchen and dining area. All one large room. It has wallpaper over the paneling. I wondered if I could paint over the wallpaper with textured paint. If I can and it will stay on it would solve the problem of the lines in the paneling.

I tried to texture over painted wallpaper in the house I bought and the texture loosened the wallpaper glue, so I stopped and had to pull it all down. Since it was the bathroom it was that labor intensive but your large room might take a little bit of time. Maybe there's a product for this type of application?

Well duh, I just re-read...you said "textured paint", not just texture. You can paint over wallpaper and I think there's a primer (or something similar) specifically designed for this so the paint adheres and doesn't loosen the wallpaper glue. I don't know why it would be different using a textured paint than a regular paint. I'm really not being much help, am I? : )
