Hello, everyone! I am trying to re-finish my old vintage dresser. I painted it beautiful turqouise, but it turned out being now too bright. What would be the best way to dimm the color? I thought of applying a coat of a clear wax, then a coat of dark wax, and then take off dark wax with clear wax. But maybe there are some other ways, can someone please give me a suggestion? Thank you in advance. This message has been edited. Last edited by: MyDesign,
There are transparent glazing and staining techniques that could work to create a more subtle color. I would take a drawer front into a pro paint store and ask them? Also I would paint a piece of wood the same turquoise and do your testing on sections of that, to find the look you want. Avoids lots of repainting.
